Flynn, we are nearing the end of our driving journey as you prepare to sit your restricted test. It has been a privilege to get the opportunity to extend and improve your driving knowledge and you have proven to be a very competent, safe and courteous driver.
Flynn, some great driving and control in the lessons we have covered to date. Having now completed motorway driving, three point turn, parallel parking, I want to now focus on your test and carry out a pre test assessment.
I will on lesson 4 and 5 conduct a pre test assessment to see where any gaps may still remain as well as a final pre test assessment on the day of your restricted driving test.
Please practice all aspects of your driving education as contained in your lesson 5 drop down so that you have everything well covered in a practical sense. Any gaps, we can look at in our last lesson before your pre test assessment.
I want you to understand that when we care carrying out a pre test assessment, you can’t use this as an opportunity to ask questions as I am looking for you to carry out your own decisions, judgement and skills as I give you simple directions around a route in Westgate.

Introduction :
Licence check complete and today we are going to be doing – Please see below a number of lesson plans we will cover in 90 minutes.
We will conduct todays’ session in and around motorway and off ramp Neilson Street
The reason for today’s session is to become familiar with the below tasks and an understanding of steering, checking over the right and left shoulder whilst keeping the car on a steady forward movement without drifting. To become comfortable with why we need to carry out over-the-shoulder checks and marry those up with checking mirrors. To avoid a fixed stare but instead, to be scanning road, signs, exits, and hazards at all times.
Feedback for lesson 1
Flynn, excellent driving for the first time I have met with you. You have a courteous manner with other road users, have a calm disposition, and have obviously had some practice handling your vehicle on the road. I would ask that you practice over-the-shoulder head checks whilst remaining in your lane, especially as you merge with other traffic, turn into roads from intersections, keeping in mind that a hidden cyclist can always pop up unexpectedly. In our next lesson, I would like to begin to prepare you with some parallel parking and 3 point turn maneuvers.
See you soon
Sharon

Developing a training plan with you Flynn is where we begin now you have your theory learner test behind you.
Your training plan will be a structured and logical sequence of progressive lesson plans with the provision for the review of your progress as we go to build upon the driving practice you have already gained.
Each lesson plan will have its own TRAINING OBJECTIVE which will outline what you will achieve as a result of the session along with the STANDARD to which you need to perform the task and the conditions under which the performance will be assessed along with the RESOURCES that will need to be supplied.
How we deliver our knowledge to you is through three main methods
Controlled Practice – This is where your tutor will carry out the manoeuvre with a full verbal description as we go a couple of times so you have a chance to observe and feel comfortable trying it yourself.
Prompted Practice – Once you are comfortable, you can then try the manoeuvre whilst your tutor prompts you with a word here and there as a reminder as you concentrate on carrying out your manoeuvre
Transferred Responsibility – Yay – this is the bit you get to do it yourself and practice.
