Joshua, what a great lesson you had! We are beginning to travel more distance each time. I want you to keep up your practice and remember to head check as well as look in the appropriate side mirror and your rear mirror before you move lanes. Looking at an appropriate gap selection would also be worth noting.
Next week I want to focus on roundabouts. Please watch the video on your page here for more information.

Joshua, very impressed with your confidence and tenacity through this lesson as you learned to navigate to your work place from home several times. I want you to practice your head checks, lane positioning and covering your brake without having to brake unnecessarily.
I think we should practice the same route on your next lesson as I think if yu become really confident in handling your drive to work, then all other aspects of the driving journey will become sigificantly easier.

Joshua, I heard you when you said you had not driven and practiced for a while so I was really pleased with your focus and the outcome of today’s lesson. I found you to be a very courteous driver with great road manners. I think it would be a good idea for us to focus on your worries around other road users as this is impacting your decision-making. You have made some good progress so if we proceed gently, I truly believe you will become confident in your road positioning. The next time we meet, I would like to drive us to a spot that I think would be very helpful for you to gain some confidence around how you judge distance and carry out your decision-making.
I look forward to meeting you again – you are on the road to being a great driver.

Developing a training plan with you Joshua is where we begin once you have your theory learner test behind you.
Your training plan will be a structured and logical sequence of progressive lesson plans with the provision for the review of your progress as we go to build upon the driving practice you have already gained.
Each lesson plan will have its own TRAINING OBJECTIVE which will outline what you will achieve as a result of the session along with the STANDARD to which you need to perform the task and the conditions under which the performance will be assessed along with the RESOURCES that will need to be supplied.
How we deliver our knowledge to you is through three main methods
Controlled Practice – This is where your tutor will carry out the manoeuvre with a full verbal description as we go a couple of times so you have a chance to observe and feel comfortable trying it yourself.
Prompted Practice – Once you are comfortable, you can then try the manoeuvre whilst your tutor prompts you with a word here and there as a reminder as you concentrate on carrying out your manoeuvre
Transferred Responsibility – Yay – this is the bit you get to do it yourself and practice.
