We really look forward to helping you prepare for your restricted driving test and go ahead on the roads as a safe and well prepared, and confident driver.
Lesson 2 – 19th January 2023
It was nice to meet up again Jaime after a considerable gap between today and when we last met to carry out a lesson. It was good to see how you began to master smoothly accelerating the car and not allowing the “surge” to occur often resulting in the car jumping forward, making it difficult for you to steer the vehicle. You did well to move into a small town situation from a quiet suburban area with roundabouts and began to smoothly navigate the road conditions. Practice is now essential and we discussed you committing to two hours in total a minimum amount of time that you will practice before we meet again on Wednesday 1st February. Remember your mirror use and head checks and I am hoping next time you have managed to master the smooth operation of your vehicle so we can progress to the next step.
Well done…
Sharon
Lesson 1 – 23rd May 2022
My initial impression is you are nervous which is understandable as your driving journey is something you learn and something that does not necessarily just happen. However, after settling in I found you to be a good driver when it comes to caution around other road users and you show courtesy which is great. Please remember that steering is so important with small but subtle movements as well as practicing mirror scanning and really allowing yourself a great impression of what is happening on the road around you. Lane position is also something you can practice ensuring you are looking far enough ahead to make sure your vehicle is in the middle of your lane and not too far left or right. I am really looking forward to your confidence building – you are going well.

Developing a training plan with you is where we begin once you have your theory learner test behind you.
Your training plan will be a structured and logical sequence of progressive lesson plans with the provision for the review of your progress as we go.
Each lesson plan will have its own TRAINING OBJECTIVE which will outline what you will achieve as a result of the session along with the STANDARD to which you need to perform the task and the conditions under which the performance will be assessed along with the RESOURCES that will need to be supplied.
How we deliver our knowledge to you is through three main methods
Controlled Practice – This is where your tutor will carry out the manoeuvre with a full verbal description as we go a couple of times so you have a chance to observe and feel comfortable trying it yourself.
Prompted Practice – Once you are comfortable, you can then try the manoeuvre whilst your tutor prompts you with a word here and there as a reminder as you concentrate on carrying out your manoeuvre
Transferred Responsibility – Yay – this is the bit you get to do it yourself and practice.
The following behaviors will not be tolerated by either the tutor or the student or any staff member of ALL TERRAIN DRIVING ACADEMY
