Lesson #2 – Tuesday 7th March 5.30 pm – 7.00 pm
Motorway driving and parallel parking today went very well. You will need to practice parallel parking to be confident in carrying out this manouevre. Remember to focus on your road position using your side view mirrors as this really helps you to stay left and in the safer zone, especially when on rural or motorway roads.
Lesson #1 – Wednesday 22nd Feb 2:30-4pm
Holly, great to meet you today for the very first time. You have a very sound, confident, and cautious approach to driving. You’ve done very well to get where you are so far. As mentioned, it’s now about fine-tuning. So remember why you need to do head checks, either left every time you turn, or diverge your course, or right if you’re merging into a flush median – but anytime you turn right you’re thinking about the cyclist who’s swooping in on your blind spot to the left as you complete the turn.
Your steering with the push and pull becomes a lot more freer, you’re not locking your hands up as much so you’ll find it easier to indicate, use your windscreen wipers etc. I just want you to now think about increasing your mirror use, and just think about that crawling into junctions so that you’ve got time to look at everything.
I would suggest on our next lesson we up the pace a little bit, try some test conditions with some motorway, just to get a broad picture and get you ready for when you’re wanting to move towards your restricted.
Great to meet you, see you next time
